Kaylee Holland served as the 2024 NCPE Intern at the Midwest Regional Office, working with the Historic Preservation Partnerships Program (HPP). This team oversees National Historic Landmark (NHL) nominations submitted to the Secretary of the Interior and provides technical assistance to NHL site owners and stewards.

Among her responsibilities, Kaylee acted as lead editor and writer for the feature article in the 2024 National Historic Landmarks newsletter, which includes contributions from the HPP team and updates on NHLs for both print and digital publication. She independently conducted research, coordinated and traveled to sites across the Midwest region to interview subject-matter experts, captured original photographs, and drafted the article.

In addition, she designed the full newsletter, ensuring compliance with National Park Service design standards and producing a Section 508–accessible version of the document.
