As part of the National Register course at UT Austin, Kaylee independently researched and drafted a National Register of Historic Places nomination for the Girl Scout Lodge in Zilker Park, Austin, Texas. The nomination was grounded in extensive primary source research, including architectural drawings, personal correspondence, oral history recordings, and newspaper clippings sourced from local archives such as the Austin History Center and the Texas Archive of the Moving Image. Secondary sources included the existing Historic District nomination for Zilker Metropolitan Park and a Cultural Landscape Report for the area. The final submission included Google KMZ files and interior maps and plans of the lodge, which Kaylee created using Adobe Illustrator and Autodesk AutoCAD.
